Who would have thought that even here in Australia, mga sabong pampa-puti are also available? We went to the Filipino Shop-Sari Sari Store ni Ate Edna and I saw boxes and boxes of sabon papaya...sabon...i can't remember but they all serve the same purpose, to make the skin lighter. If they work, sigurado wala ng pinoy na maitim dito sa Darwin at akoy namakyaw na para sa asawa ko!!!
But does it really work? Apparently it does kasi may mercury daw na kahalo. You don't really turn white, but more of a silverish-whitish mimic of famous & well idolised pinoy actresses/actors.
What's with the white skin versus the dark skin??? I think Filipinos concocted this idea that if you have fairer skin mas maganda ka. If you have dark skin, hindi sosyal ang dating mo. Grabe no? Only from the society of pinoys!!!
My sister kept on telling me to stop 'cause i'll look like someone selling mangoes in the market daw. To be honest, I ended up giving all those away. Didn't work wonders for me. I may really need to see Michael Jackson's Doctor.
Anyway, nakakatawa lang kung bakit tayong mga pinoy gustong pumuti, samantala yong mga puti bilad ng bilad sa init kahit nag kaka cancer na para lang mag darken yong skin nila. We seem to idolise and appreciate more, the things that we're not, instead of enhancing the features that we have. Ano say nyo?
Basta ako...concentrate lang sa mga kakaning pinoy.........
Kahit hindi sosyal ang itsura...sosyal naman ang sikmura, hahit LIGO sardinas lang.
