A One Way Voyage........

I live life not the way I want it. I live life the way I decided. Decisions never always reflect what you want. Whether it's a mistake or not, it is the way God wanted it to be. Not known for now, but there is a reason, for I have died once, yet lived again. Be it fraught with upsets, at the end of the road, for as long as I can say "I have not harmed a soul", then it withstood the waves and the journey was perfect.-Falcon116

ANZAC CONTINUATION

To make the most of the ANZAC long weekend, last Sunday, my husband went fishing out in the middle of nowhere in a boat with his work mate. When they finished , he went straight to Ate Luz's house with (apparently) an esky full of huge fishes. I did not see how big they were exactly because by the time I got there, it's all cleaned and sliced already. But looking at the heads...My God.... They were huge!

So guess what??? Yeah, kainan na naman. No wonder I am getting richer and richer...with FATS!

Chef Doc Ed Aralar cooked this oh so yummy na ESKABETCHE (is that how you spell it?) and sinigang fish heads. Just have a look at the size of the pot we used for the Sinigang. It just proves kung gaano kami kalakas kumain.

Not just that. He also cooked Ginataan/binignit/bilo-bilo for dessert na pagka sarap sarap. I sometimes feel his cooking is almost like a sin 'cause you can't stop eating talaga once you start.

Anyhow, we all went home and slept with smiles in our faces, feeling content in our tummy, and looking forward to this Saturday's camp out in the bush- Tumbling Waters Holiday Park.

May Day long weekend, HERE WE COME......

Then Gold Coast and Melbourne...BE WARNED!

ANZAC DAY OUTBACK PICNIC NG MGA TRALALA

Boy oh boy, seems like every time I blog, merong kainang nangyari. Australia celebrated the ANZAC day yesterday. It's to remember the diggers (Soldiers) not just during the WW1 and 2 but all those who went and those who are still in a battle to protect the very freedom that we now so enjoy here.

Talking about 'Enjoying Freedom'...Here's how Filipinos celebrate freedom here in Darwin...Always with FFOOOOODDDD!!!!

So here we are, enjoying freedom once again.........

Tuhogan to the max all night long. We prepared the BBQ Thursday night at Mona's House. Though taxing, we succeeded in learning to put the meat through the skewer ALLAN STYLE. The chef was so strict, we trembled every time he says, "Ano yan? Bat may mga bumibitay?"...Gosh, I never thought there is a special way of doing it so as not to make the meat dry ! This is our first lesson/practice for the upcoming August Barrio Fiesta Modus Operandi. We've learned a lot in one night didn't we? But obviously not enough. more practice needed according to Allan. Ano ba yan kinakalyo na tong kamay ko!

Came Friday at the Litchfield National Park-The Lakes, where all the freedom is relished. BBQhan time na!

Tingnan mo naman, very professional! Si Katrina Tangkad, talagang
naka pausing kahit pinapausukan na!!!

The Chef's wife dutifully awaits the famous BBQ.

Chikahan muna bago kain.

Hala Bira! Kainan na!
Ed, remember, ang SUPER...

BBQong Baboy, bagoong na ginisa sa kamatis at baboy, Dinuguan.....Sinong hindi matutumba nito?

This is what we call "THE BBQ KNOCK DOWN.

The two original Jungle Girls-THE FELINES: MMEEEOOOOWWWR

Future In-Laws??? Kaya???

Swimming muna pang pa tunaw ng taba....

Mona in Action...After an hour up on the slide gathering strength. Sa wakas bumaba na rin.

Kailangan na ni Mona ng Psychiatrist at na phobia.

Anyway, here' s only to show you that even we, mere migrants in this country do rip the benefits of the sacrifices the diggers have rendered to this beautiful country, AUSTRALIA. I am so proud to call this country one of my two homes.

And of course, di maiiwasan ang picture taking ala modelling...What better way to express freedom but by documenting the independence, liberty, fun and history through the lenses and posting it for the world to see.....

There's even the freedom to twist reality to fantasy

Be thankful and enjoy.

LEST WE FORGET...............

Sir Elton John is coming to town to do a concert!!!

And guess what??? I am going!!!! Here is the evidence:

I am definitely going.

The Darwin Entertainment Center was flocked with Territorians during the first day of ticket sale. Catrina took this photo, I think, from her work. Ala, picture ka ng picture, lagot ka sa boss mo!!!

I am not really a big fan, but I remember, when Princess Diana died, whenever I hear 'England's Rose' by Elton John, I'd cry...literally bawl, every time I hear it. So when my birthday came, my husband's nephew, Mark, gave me that Elton John CD specially recorded for Diana. Then, another nephew, Murray(Cat's first toyboy!!! Hehehe!!!) , gave me exactly the same thing...and guess what...his girlfriend then, Angie, also gave me the same CD....That was how badly I was affected by that album, that it became so apparent to everyone around me. All in all...I got three of those Cd's right now. So pathetic huh??? Not sure why Catrina did not give me the same thing...???? Hmmm? Bakit kaya?

Anyway, now that he's coming, I might as well watch him perform. I hope he's not singing England's Rose, I might cry again...

...Never really gotten over the fact that I got three of those Cd's instead of three bottles of wine. Tsk!Tsk!Tsk!

Welcome Dry Season!!!

Dry season is now officially here!!!

Temperature plunging,

Dragonflies flying

My roses blooming

We're now starting to water the garden again at natu-tuyo na.

Water bill obviously rising. But I don't care. I am just so happy we've got the cold weather up again. I was already starting to get sick of the wet wet wet and stinkingly hot weather.

When I first came here, I found it odd that the wet season is actually the hot season. The dry season, cold. But it's the way it is here. When it's winter down south, that's when we have our dry here, and we get much of the cold southern wind kaya malamig dito.

Anyway, I'm just glad na I can go under the quilt again without having the air con on full blast.

..Oh, two more months...actually less...then, Gold Coast and Melbourne, here we come!!!

Ang Cane Toad. Paty ang Cane Toad. See it?

It's the number one enemy of the Australian Wildlife. Dito po sa Northern Australia pinapapatay lahat tong palakang 'to because they are considered to be major menacing pests sa Australian Wildlife. They were first introduced to Australia around the 1930s to combat the cane beetle na nakakasira sa sugar cane crops noon. But they did not anticipate how prolific cane toads are. They have toxins (bufotoxin) in their skin, apparently with effects similar to that of cyanide. So when they get eaten by crocs, snakes, etc...Di patay din yong kumain... When they first sighted (1984) Cane Toads here in the Northern Territory, nag panic sila and they tried to eradicate the pest, but it did not work. They are most rampant when it's the wet season, and that's one of the reasons why I hate rainy days. I am always vigilant everytime Ikki goes out at night. He likes anything that moves...Frog? It'd look to him like a live goody! So now the government is investing a lot to stop them from crossing over to Western Australia. A friend of mine, Maggie, even joins the regular Cane Toad Hunting, where they catch as much cane toads as they can in one night, then all these cane toads are injected with something that kills them 'humanely'...Anyway....Who can treat something this ugly humanely???

This is the biggest Cane Toad they have seen so far...a size of a small dog...YUKKK!!!

YO SISTAH HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!

Hey sis! Happy happy birthday. How do you expect me to remember your birthday when you never look any older???

As you know me...I'm always fashionably late, so here I am with my grand greetings...

Anyway, one my greatest wishes is for you to have more more more and more birthdays to come. After all, statistic shows that people who have the most, live the longest.

You're complaining about receding hairline? How's this? I forgot the date yesterday was your birthday. I thought today is the 11th. I am friggin exhibiting early signs of Alzheimer's. Wanna trade "Growing up pains"? And I am friggin 6 years younger than you...I know, I know, it's always thought the other way around....

Yo, everybody. This is my beloved sistah...She's six years older than me ok??? Get it? Six years. But man, she looks good doesn't she?

This is how big she was when I was born...

Then she became like this....with a son this big and tall.

Poor thing, time started taking it's toll on my poor big older sister...

Wonder what she looks like now????

Please scroll down..................
